Andrew joined ANZ’s institutional New Zealand leadership team as head of global markets, New Zealand in September 2008. This role encompasses interest-rate, foreign-exchange and commodity trading, management of the bank’s liquidity portfolio, sales-related services, origination, underwriting, structuring, risk management, advice and the sale of credit and derivative products globally. Prior to this Andrew held a variety of roles in ANZ’s New Zealand global-markets business including most recently head of interest-rate trading. Before joining ANZ, Andrew was a lecturer in finance at Victoria University in Wellington. Andrew holds Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Commerce and Administration (Honours) degrees and is a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia.

Cameron Bagrie

Cameron has worked as an economist in New Zealand for 19 years, including nine as chief economist of ANZ New Zealand. In this role, Cameron leads a team of economists and strategists working in ANZ’s financial-markets operation. The responsibilities of the team include the forecasting of the New Zealand economy, analysis of New Zealand monetary policy as well as the forecasting and strategy work associated with fixed-income research. On top of this Cameron provides considerable strategic input to clients and the bank. Cameron travels extensively, providing economic and financial advice to ANZ’s customers in New Zealand as well as overseas. He appears regularly in the media. Cameron has previously held posts at the National Bank of New Zealand and New Zealand Treasury. He gained a BCom from University of Otago and a MCom from the University of Canterbury.
Jared Barton-Hills

Jared has 19 years’ experience in markets, with the majority of this time spent trading credit. Jared spent two years in Wellington with ANZ, before a move to Sydney. In Sydney he worked for seven years at Citigroup before rejoining ANZ in 2008. He recently moved back to New Zealand, based in Auckland, where he has responsibility for trading both the New Zealand and Australia credit trading books.

Mark’s primary responsibilities lie with the fixed-income management process, incorporating credit research, portfolio construction and risk management. He has an established history providing care for clients and their fixed-income portfolios. For 16 years, Mark led the fixed-income portfolio management team at the business that evolved as National Mutual Funds Management, AXA and then AllianceBernstein. He has produced consistently sound and competitive investment performance throughout. Mark has expertise across the breadth of fixed-income disciplines, including risk management, economics, credit and quantitative analysis. Mark began his portfolio-management career at Credit Suisse Asset Management in London in 1992, having previously worked for DFC New Zealand and Bank of New Zealand.
Mark Butcher

Mark has been chief executive of the New Zealand Local Government Funding Agency since August 2014. Previously, he was treasurer at Auckland Council, a role he held since the council’s establishment in November 2010. Prior to this, Mark worked in senior trading and sales roles across derivative, interest-rate and debt products at the National Bank of New Zealand and Westpac Institutional Bank, and in the wealth-management sector as chief investment officer at Perpetual Capital and general manager of AllianceBernstein New Zealand. Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Auckland University and is a CFA charterholder.
Paul Cable

Paul is in charge of interest-rate trading for ANZ markets, based in Wellington. He has been in the role for the last six years and is in charge of all interest-rate products for ANZ including FX forwards. Paul has worked at ANZ for 14 years in total. Prior to his current role he ran AUD and NZD interest-rate trading for ANZ in London. Before this he spent several years in various trading roles in Wellington.

Andrew joined Fitch Ratings as a director in the sovereign group in 2006. He covered a range of credits on the emerging Europe team for over three years before transferring to Fitch’s Asia-Pacific sovereigns team, based in Hong Kong, in 2009. He is currently the head of Asia Pacific sovereign ratings and the lead analyst for China. Before joining Fitch, Andrew worked at the Bank of England for eight years in a range of roles in the bank’s monetary analysis, market operations, and financial stability areas. Andrew has an MSc in Economics from the University of Warwick and a BA from Oxford University in Philosophy, Politics and Economics.

Helen has worked in capital-markets publishing since 1999. She moved to Sydney from London to join KangaNews as senior staff writer in July 2013, and became deputy editor in December 2014. Prior to this, she was editor of Screen Insider, the real-time Eurobond news provider, and she was also the senior reporter for Bondwatch, Screen Insider’s sister product. Here, she provided independent commentary on investment-grade Eurobond issuance from the nonfinancial corporate sector. David has 21 years experience in financial markets, and holds a Masters degree in Finance and Economics (with distinction) from the University of Waikato, New Zealand.

Frank joined KfW in 1989. He has been treasurer since July 2004, responsible for liquidity management, funding, asset liability management, portfolio management and securitisation. Furthermore, he oversees the privatisation activities of equity stakes held by KfW. Prior to this – since 1998 – Frank was head of capital markets at KfW, where was responsible for the management of the bank’s funding programme. His responsibilities also included investor relations and transaction management. Prior to joining the capital markets department Frank worked as a project manager at KfW’s Regional Department Asia, where he was in charge of financial cooperation with developing countries. Before joining KfW Frank conducted research at the Royal Scientific Society in Amman, Jordan as well as in Pakistan. He graduated in economics from the Free University of Berlin and received a doctorate degree from the same university in 1989.

Paul joined ANZ in 1995 and, before becoming treasurer in April 2008, led ANZ New Zealand’s debt capital markets business from 1997. He is responsible for ANZ’s New Zealand wholesale funding and capital management. Prior to joining ANZ, Paul worked at the Bank of England, the New Zealand Debt Management Office and the New Zealand Treasury.

Dan is head of capital markets at Genesis Energy. His area of responsibility covers treasury management, investor relations, investment analysis and long-term financial modelling. Dan is a qualified accountant (CIMA) with more than 15 years of experience in energy markets in New Zealand and overseas. He is actively involved in the preparation of Genesis Energy, New Zealand’s largest energy retailer, for partial privatisation under the government’s mixed-ownership model.
Andrea Dore

Andrea joined World Bank in 1998 and has worked in a number of units in the bank’s treasury. Her current responsibilities include managing World
Bank’s funding programme and strategy in several currency markets, including Australia, Canada, Japan and New Zealand as well as several emerging markets.
She has also managed several projects focused on strengthening the controls and monitoring of operational risk across World Bank’s finance complex. Prior to joining World Bank, Andrea worked at the St. Lucia Development Bank for six years. Andrea is a Fulbright Scholarship recipient and holds an MA in Finance and Economics from Brandeis University in Boston and an MSc in Information and Telecommunication Systems from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. She is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Stefan Goebel

Stefan joined Rentenbank – Germany’s agency for agribusiness and the rural areas, based in Frankfurt – in 2000. He has held various roles in the treasury department. Stefan is responsible for Rentenbank’s financing programme in international and domestic capital markets, the portfolio of bonds and standard promotional loans and asset-liability management. Previously, Stefan has worked as head of syndicated funding at Allgemeine Hypothekenbank, Frankfurt, and in the debt capital markets team at Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt. Stefan holds a Master of Economics from the University of Mannheim, Germany.

Diana is the head of fixed-income strategy at Gareth Morgan Investments (GMI). After completing a PhD in Chemistry at Cambridge University, she embarked on an investment career spanning more than 20 years, managing global fixed-income portfolios. Diana joined GMI in 2012. She also contributes to wider investment strategies. Diana has also worked for Saudi International Bank (a J.P. Morgan affiliate), Goldman Sachs Asset Management and Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London and New York.
Jens Hellerup

Jens is director and head of funding and investor relations at Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) in Helsinki. He is responsible for funding the bank’s activities in international capital markets, and also for the bank’s investor relations. Before joining the funding and investor-relations team, Jens acted as fixed-income portfolio manager at NIB. Jens joined NIB in 2000. Before this, he held a position as treasury financial analyst at Danish national telecommunication company, TDC. He has more than 20 years’ experience in international capital markets and holds a Masters’ degree in Economics and a Master of Business Administration degree.
Vicky Hyde-Smith

Vicky joined AMP Capital in 2001 and is responsible for managing the firm’s combined cash and fixed-income portfolios together with Grant Hassell and Warren Potter. She takes the lead on all credit investments, participating in all areas of credit research and analysis. Vicky is the primary analyst for all New Zealand credits, and she works closely with the respective sector analysts based in Sydney. Prior to joining AMP Capital, Vicky gained experience in the Japanese fixed-interest market, initially using her Japanese-language skills in a liaison role with Tokyo, and subsequently as dealer assistant in the proprietary trading team at Sumitomo Finance in
London, from 1996.

Murray has responsibility for the front office activities of the New Zealand Debt Management Office (NZDMO). The NZDMO plays a critical role in the efficient functioning of the economy. It oversees the government's borrowing requirements and associated activities, with a goal of managing debt in a way that minimises costs while keeping risk at an appropriate level. Murray joined the Treasury in March 2014. His background is predominantly in bank treasury and financial markets at Bank of New Zealand, Barclays and ANZ. Previous roles have included head of interest rate risk management, BNZ treasury and director wholesale funding, BNZ. Murray studied business management and Japanese at Waikato University.

Maria obtained her MBA from the University of Chicago.

He joined ANZ after returning from London in 2006. Dean graduated from Lincoln University with a Bachelor of Commerce and Management. He is a member of the CFA Institute, the Institute of Directors in New Zealand and INFINZ. Dean qualified as a CFA charterholder in 2003. He is member of the CFA Society of New Zealand Board and a representative on the Australia and New Zealand Advocacy Council.

Prior to joining the FMA, Garth had extensive dispute resolution experience at Simpson Grierson and Crown Law, representing the Crown to Privy Council level. He was then the head of issuer regulation and an acting head of regulation at NZX.

Before this he spent 17 years with National Bank of New Zealand – the last seven of which were as head of financial markets. Simon holds a BSc(Hons) and MSc degree from the University of Otago.

Natalie is a managing director and head of debt capital markets, Australia at J. P. Morgan, with over 20 years’ experience in debt capital markets. She is responsible for the bank’s debt business in Australia and New Zealand, including syndicated loan, acquisition finance, leveraged finance and capital markets businesses including high grade, high yield and euros as well as US private placements. Natalie has originated and led many landmark transactions for a diverse group of large Australasian issuers including Woolworths, Goodman Group, Fortescue Metals Group, Fonterra Co-operative Group, Brambles, Woodside Energy, Wesfarmers, Telstra Corporation and the Australian domestic banks. Natalie is chair of the J.P. Morgan women’s interactive network for Australia and New Zealand and sits on the J.P. Morgan diversity council for Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Law and Arts from the University of Otago.
Graeme Wheeler

Graeme was appointed governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand in September 2012. He was employed at World Bank from 1997 until 2010. During this time, his roles included managing director, operations (2006-2010), and vice-president and treasurer (2001-2006). In his role as managing director, Graeme led the World Bank’s interactions with the IMF on the global financial crisis, and represented the World Bank at the G8, G20, Development Committee, International Monetary and Financial Committee, and Financial Stability Forum. During his time with World Bank, he was also awarded the World Bank Staff Association Good Manager Award for his leadership. Previously, Graeme worked at the New Zealand Treasury as deputy secretary and treasurer of the Debt Management Office (1993-1997). From 1984-1990 he was economic counsellor in the New Zealand Delegation to the OECD in Paris. Graeme also ran his own advisory business in the US from 2010.
The Reserve Bank was named central bank of the year by the Central Banking Journal in 2015.
Martin Whetton

Martin Whetton is the head of Australian dollar rates strategy at ANZ in Sydney. He is responsible for the coverage and forecasting of interest rates in the Australian dollar market for investors and corporate clients. Martin joined ANZ in October 2014 after five years at Nomura Australia, where he covered the dollar-bloc markets. Martin is regularly ranked in the top-three strategists and was voted number one for Australian-dollar-rates strategy in the Asiamoney survey 2015. He has previously worked in both rates-trading and sales roles in Sydney and London.
Paul White

Paul has managed global debt syndicate teams for more than 20 years, joining ANZ in 2009. In his current role he runs the global debt syndicate and frequent issuer DCM business. He manages a global team which is responsible for executing primary public, private and structured-bond transactions in 15 currencies globally. His team is also responsible for the DCM coverage of sovereigns, supranationals, agencies and financials. ANZ is a leading bond house in the Australian, New Zealand and Asian capital markets. Before joining ANZ, Paul worked for ABN AMRO in London for 12 years, where he was also responsible for the global debt syndicate and frequent issuer DCM coverage.
